20 to 29 May
In the year that celebrates its 10th edition, the Setúbal International Music Festival is coming back, to bring together again vibrant names of national and international music with the local community (involving more than 1,500 young people), in the creation and musical performances.
The city of Setúbal will once again host concerts, performances, artistic creations and exhibitions, offering an eclectic, quality programme that will include some of the most beautiful pieces from the classical repertoire, as well as more energetic and jazzy rhythms and other sounds from more distant places.
The Setúbal International Music Festival thus continues to be a unique socio-cultural phenomenon, pioneering and truly inclusive. The extensive work developed with the local community and with the music schools throughout the school year enhances musical experiences in young people – some with special educational needs – unique experiences in their growth and development process.
The theme of the Festival is LIFE and Celebration! Considering the two years of pandemic period that society experienced, the meaning and concept of the word “life” reaches all humanity, regardless of age, generation, nationality, cultural background, and brings to the young and adult audience, that the Festival would like to reach and involve, a feeling of celebration and reunion in a new moment, exploring new ways of celebrating life, inspired by music and body language. Life returns to Setúbal, to Culture and Music!
On this date we are presenting the most outstanding concerts of the 10th Edition of the Setúbal International Music Festival. The full and detailed program will soon be released.
