Aroura”, by composer Iannis Xenakis (a Greek term used to describe “The Earth”), explores the sound textures of nature. Music creates an epic and uncompromising sound poem: a wonderful assault on the senses, on the primordial sounds that surround us.
Beethoven’s sixth symphony is an ode to life, optimism and joy that explores extra-musical associations through nature, where landscape merges with emotion and hope, in the description of a sublime and indomitable nature.

Throughout its 6 years of existence, the Setúbal Youth Ensemble has shown that music brings people together and celebrates diversity. This year, the Youth Ensemble, embraces the Festival’s theme and celebrates the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, with the premiere of Dear Mr. Beethoven, by composer Sara Ross, also integrating in its concert the sounds and the voice of Sofia Vitória.
